Where did you grow up?
Seattle, Washington
Can you tell us about your family?
I have been married to Tawsha for 8 years, and we have a 3 year-old named Colton. I still can’t quite believe I get to be her husband and his dad.
How did you come to know the Lord?
I grew up in Church and with parents who wanted to give us the “exposure” to Christ, but they weren’t completely sold on it and so my skepticism grew with age. By the time I was a senior in high school, I had gone from growing up being active in youth group and my Church, to no involvement or interest, to feeling something was missing.
As I went through my freshman year of college, it became apparent to me that something was missing in my life and that I not only believed that God was real, but that I needed to see what this “relationship” thing was all about. I went from a consumer to active participant in my faith, and grew to understand how real the relationship is.
What are some of your favorite things to do?
I love grilling steaks or burgers…love great Italian food…and crave “pellet ice.” When I find restaurants or Am/Pm’s that carry it, they earn a life-long customer. Love it.
Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
I’m touched by the simplicity of what it’s really all about.
Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (NIV)
How about a favorite band or artist?
This changes all the time…current favorites Abandon, Kutless, Mikeschair, and Group 1 Crew. I also love 80’s rock like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and the occasion Rascall Flatts song.
Favorite Book:
I’m not a real good reader…but I’m always inspired by Don Miller’s take on life and have found Unchristian and The Next Christians to be an awesome read.
